Window films can offer privacy in three ways.
Plain clear glass can be made “one-way”, frosted or blocked out in a solid colour.
The success of one way glass is not only dependent on the solar film, but also the lighting environment it is applied in. It works by reducing the light level on one side of the glass as compared with the other. Therefore, to create the one way effect, your glass will need to be tinted to some degree. Remember, because it is lighting dependent, it only works during the daytime!
Frosting is the solution where you need 24-hour privacy, don’t need to see out, but still want the natural light to come through. This product is very popular on entrance sidelights where the one-way product is often unsuitable because it only works during the day.
